Externships for Teachers (TE)

The Teacher Externships (TE) Project primarily focuses on summer professional development for middle and high school teachers counselors, and administrators.  As part of this project, educators visit local companies and organizations to learn where/how math and science is applied in workforce settings. Teachers also learn about employers’ needs, such as teamwork, communication, problem solving, responsibility, and ethics.

Virtual Tours for Students (VTS)

The goal of the Virtual Tours for Students (VTS) Project is to provide tours of facilities to students in the regional area using Internet-based technology. While the TE project focuses on teacher professional development, the VTS project focuses on student learning.  Essentially, ASWC wants the students to learn the same things as the teachers in terms of career awareness, employment requirements, educational requirements for each occupation explored, and so on.  Learn more at aswc.nepris.com
